What you need to bring
It’s helpful if you bring along to your lessons: drum sticks, a folder for your copies of practice materials and, of course, a great attitude!
Finding the right drum kit for you
If you’re a first-time drummer it might also seem like an enormous and impossible task to decide what gear to buy. We’re happy to give you advice on what will be the best solution for you. We can also offer a discount (at select stores) or help you shop around for a second-hand drum kit.
Minimum age limit
We have a minimum 10 year age limit. There are two reasons for this: 1) We teach on an adult size drum kit which is simply too large for most children under 10 years old 2) We find that small children don’t have the concentration required to fully benefit from adult-based drum lessons.
A note from owner and teacher Joachim Alfheim: “I know my name can be a mouthful (pronounced with a soft J like “U-ah-kim”). That’s what you get when you put a Norwegian in Australia! If it’s too much of a challenge then call me by one of my nicknames; Yoyo or Yukes”.
